Bio
Ziyi Huang is an emerging filmmaker based in Sydney whose multicultural background, shaped by relocations between countries during her teenage years, has cultivated a unique perspective on cultural adaptation and resistance. These experiences, combined with moments of solitude and occasional desires to escape reality, ignited her passion for filmmaking.

When COVID-19 transformed the global landscape, Ziyi embraced her true calling, embarking on a self-taught filmmaking journey that explored every aspect from pre- to post-production. Determined to establish her voice as a female creator, she initially produced short films independently, blending animation with live-action to manage budgets while merging childhood interests with her current artistic vision.

Her collaborative works have gained significant traction, with one film surpassing one million views on social media, while her personal creations have also captured attention, with a short film accumulating two hundred thousand views. Having recently completed her Master of Film and Screen Arts program, Ziyi continues to expand her creative portfolio by developing short films across diverse genres.
